"I Am Enough" Words To Live By
A Talk By Gary Cunningham

Gary Cunningham's "I Am Enough" Talk
Motivational Speaker
"I'm not good enough.." a statement from students heard too often by Gary Cunningham, as he delivered his impactful talk in schools across Ireland.
Gary believes in the power of self-love, self-care, and personal responsibility - the three areas he aims to hit during his "I Am Enough" talk for students. This is done firstly through an honest telling of Gary's own story of how time spent in prison actually saved his life, followed by continuing reminders to each student that they are enough.
Every individual has patterns and behaviours that hold them back from reaching their highest potential. Gary Cunningham believes, "It all starts with YOU," and provides advice and impactful motivation to start a new journey towards loving yourself and achieving your goals.
As a public speaker, Gary Cunningham aims to deliver motivation, inspiration and entertainment to a variety of audiences. He will strive to make every event a memorable experience, placing a large emphasis on delivering his message that, YOU ARE ENOUGH.
Testimonials
What Some Have to Say
“Having worked in schools for 13 years, I’ve seen my fair share of speakers and I can categorically say that no group of teenagers has EVER been hooked by someone like they were with Gary. He engaged them in an instant, he spoke their language. He made every adolescent in the room feel like he was talking to them personally and he hammered home the message that, as yourself, YOU ARE ENOUGH. Afterwards, when Gary invited anyone who wished to come up and say hello to him, there was a queue of students waiting for their chance to express their gratitude. There were tears (both happy and sad) and I had so many students come up to thank me for inviting Gary.”
Charlene O’Malley, Guidance Counsellor, Holy Faith Community School, Rathcoole, County Dublin
“A good role model is someone who is always positive, and confident in themselves. As the wellness advocate for AIB in Swords, it is important for me to find the right people to come in and talk to staff. I am so happy that I picked Gary to come in and speak to us. People still speak about him to this day and his stories. There were so many people in the room that Gary’s story affected emotionally including myself. Gary’s speech opened up my mind and I will be encouraging myself, my partner and our son to read his new book when it is released."
Amy Kelly, Wellness Coordinator, AIB Bank
“Gary’s ability to interact with the students, include them in the session and just the genuine care he had for them was amazing. As a teacher you want to invite speakers to the school who will have a positive impact on the students – Gary was our best one yet! In the weeks that followed I was begged by the students to ask Gary to come back the next academic year and was asked could he visit all year groups and not just a few classes. That alone says a lot! Young students requesting a speaker, young students talking about the speaker in the halls, young students quoting the powerful messages Gary taught them – simply fantastic!”
Allison Leetch, St Joseph’s School, Fairview
“Gary Cunningham came into my school as a guest speaker. As the Wellbeing Coordinator, I wanted to invite someone in to talk to 5th-year students about the importance of looking after themselves, particularly during stressful times. Gary was so inspirational from the moment he walked in the door. He has a gift of inspiring young people and making them realise “They are enough!” a chant that echoed throughout the school as the students engaged with this positive message. Through hearing his story, both students and staff were blown away by his perseverance to overcome difficulty as he is such a powerful role model for everyone. It was such an honour to be in the room with Gary that day and it was an afternoon the students and staff will never forget.”

Gary Cunningham: Motivational Speaker
Author. Motivational Speaker.
With a clear but simple mission of helping and inspiring others, Gary Cunningham is a Motivational Speaker that is known for making a memorable impact. His unique approach combined with contagious enthusiasm makes him perfect for a large variety of audiences and events.
Gary is an author, a musician, and is also a former inmate of Dublin's Mountjoy Prison.
Gary is very open about the mess he made of his life, which culminated in him being sentenced to three and a half years in prison. And yet, it was this very prison that was to save Gary's life.
Shortly after his release, Gary published his first book, Joys Of Joy, Finding Myself In An Irish Prison, which was a bestseller and is currently being adapted for the big screen.
His second book, Life After Joy: A Prisoner No More, was also a bestseller, and its success opened the door for Gary to return to prisons to deliver talks to the inmates.
But Gary's ultimate goal was to get into schools in the hope he could steer our youths away from a life of crime and show them there is so much more to life.
Gary got his wish and has spoken in schools and YouthReach groups all over Ireland, delivering his unique and quite unorthodox style of talk.
Sadly, it was after meeting one courageous thirteen-year-old student and hearing her heartbreaking story of how her best friend had taken his own life, that spurred Gary on to write his latest book,
I Am Enough, Words To Live By - a book which is aimed at our youths, and a book Gary hopes will give these students some crumbs for thought as they navigate their difficult teenage years.
Gary's message to our youths – to everyone - is, "YOU ARE ENOUGH!"
Gary also believes that the youth of today are going through a lot, and he feels we should take the time to ask them how they are, and as we do, to listen with openness of the heart, clarity of the mind, and to listen with intent.
Gary Cunningham has helped countless people unleash their potential, paving the way towards both personal and professional growth. Get in touch to learn more.
